Say what you will about the XFL, and there's plenty, but He Hate Me played for the Panthers, and broke a record for the longest kick return in NFL history (the full 100 yards).

McMahon has proven he can do one thing, and do it well: sensationalized, steroid-fueled stage wrestling that invariably appeals to the lowest common denominator and the stupidest people on the planet.
Totally agree. Don't you remember all the questioning of the XFL by the mainstream media over whether the games would be fixed. That would be 10 fold if he ever got involved with MMA. There would always be this doubt which would prevent MMA from progressing as a mainstream professional sport.

There is already enough speculation over "worked" fights.

The announcement is being overhyped by these boards, not the UFC.

Hopefully it will be something decent.

and having a former boxercise instructor who can't say 1 sentence without cursing is good for the legitimacy of the sport? or having the fertittas, whose father made their fortune with extremely strong ties to organized crime, is good for the sport?

Vince McMahon is no different than a Broadway director or movie producer. He provides entertainment. Are movies real? Are broadway musicals real? Please.

I stopped caring about the UFC about a year ago...their audience is the lowest common denominator and frankly there are other fight organizations out there that have put on some really good fights outside the UFC...if Evan Tanner loses and Wandy and Shogun return to Japan I might never watch the UFC again...maybe to see big Nog or GSP or Gono but other than that I have no interest in all the farm league tuffers that they continually throw down everyone's throat...

I am all for it if it means seeing Gina Carano in a bikini inside the Octagon.
