I really hope this doesn't happen. I've little doubt that if they are, MMA would be come a complete joke, complete with "storylines" and "characters" to draw in the existing WWE fans.

As far as I'm concerned, Gary Shaw is a fucking messiah compared to McMahon.

People need to remember that if the rumour is accurate and true, Vince is a minority owner, meaning he'll have little influence on the product and will be vitoed on the bad stuff everyone is fearing. Vince can not take control as a minority owner.

Also Fertittas main business is still their casinos. UFC was bought as a hobby and project for them, maybe they've gorwn a bit tired of some of the retarded negative media attention and want to back up because they're bored by it. They can focus on their casinos, maybe build some new venues to house UFC or smaller shows, and will always get the guest of honor VIP treatment for any fights they want to attend as fans.

Why all the McMahon hate? Does anybody realize how far he has taken the wrestling business over the years. Prior to his taking over of the then WWF from his father, the wrestling industry was nothing but a regional based industry, with organizations operating within small territories. McMahon changed that, he has made the WWE a global organization.

McMahon and Dana each have done the same thing to both sports, taking them from the small show to the big time.

I can understand not liking wrestling, but I hate to break it to you the UFC and WWE have virtually the same business models, the difference being that one sport has predetermined outcomes while the other is a legitimate competition. Both companies emphasize marketing their big stars and turning the new up and commers into mega-stars, this is a recipe for success, and the primary reason why both companies and Presidents have done so well with their respective organizations, and why the competitors have not fared so well.

There are plenty of reasons to not like McMahon or Dana, but the fact of the matter is you can not deny their success. I don't know if there is any truth to these rumors but I personally would not see it as a detriment to the UFC or MMA.

I don't buy it. Dana has publicly stated numerous times how he is against taking the company public. Also, in what way would having Vince McMahon involved help? He has spoken well of Vince but I do not see an advantage to him having a business relationship with him.
