Cage or Ropes?

What do you prefer?

I went to UFC 58, and saw the octogon. The view was not as bad as I thought, but not as good as a open ring with ropes. The downfalls to the cage is obviously the view.

The downfalls to rings is the stopage of the fight when the fighters get tangled up...

What would be a better way to do it?

A giant fish tank or sphere would be cool.

idea would be just a big open mat. Best for view and everything. Second best i think is the cage, because fighters don't fall out of the cage, ask someone who's actually been in a ring, it is kinda scary to think your gonna fall out.

A big open mat would make for alot of going out of bounds.

ropes better for fan attending the event and for mainstream perception
cage better for the actual sport of MMA

If I'm going to a live event, I prefer the ring much more! It's hard to see anything at UFCs unless you have a great ticket.

However, watching at home I prefer the cage. It's hard to watch the ridiculous amounts of restarts when there is a ring.
