Is Tommy Speer headed to WEC?

I see that the UFC cut several fighters. I'm guessing the Tommy Speer was cut to gain more experience? I think he fought in the WEC once.

Last I heard he was going to the WEC because the UFC sees potential, just not 'yet.'

Last I heard he was released from his contract. I could be wrong on that, but if Zuffa intended to demote Speer, would they not have simply demoted him instead of outright releasing him?

Either way, given the amount of time they invested in him leading up and through TUF 6, they probably have little to lose by letting him give the WEC a go.

Also cut were Doerkson, Lutter, and O'Brien.

It was fun to watch Josh Haynes get beat down because he never quit.
