Tito's Cardio

I just finished watching a 30 minute program about Tito's training for the Shamrock fight. For someone that preaches cardio as much as he does, his run time was horrible. When he wakes up at 1PM he runs 3 miles. He said his run time was like 26 minutes. Wow. It seemed like his training consists of tons of cardio. Maybe he is just a terrible runner.

Tito's cardio is good. Real good. This is hardly a weakness for him. His chin is his biggest weakness and his recovery time pretty much nullify's this. Other than his chin, Chuck is his biggest weakness.

yeah, but didnt he say that he gets it down to under 20 mins as the fight approaches?

Also, you have to consider he is running hills during that 3 miles..

jogging is less effective for cardio than the explosive training tito puts himself thru in the gym

Tito's chin really isn't that bad... If you noticed in the Forrest fight he was absorbing the shots much better and more effectively than he has ever in his past. The difference is he trains to get hit in the face now. I realize Griffin doesn't have quite the punching power of Liddell or Belfort, but it was just something that i saw

Tito's chin is immense....ly large.

Straight jogging does nothing compared to hill running and sprints and the like. Your average fitness Joe Schmo can jog for 25 minutes, but its fucking hard to do 3 miles of sprints or hill sprints...

This was shown in UFC: All Access which aired tonight on Spike TV. 3 miles in 26 minutes on hill terrain is very good. Big Bear has some pretty steep hills. Then he also does all the circuit training in the gym. It also made sense to me on why he wakes up at 1pm so his body gets acclimmated to peaking later in the evening.
