DAMN! Tito earned my respect!
flame me, but i have been a ufc fan since day 1 and ken shamrock was one of my fav. fighters, it was, 1. Royce 2. Don Frye then 3. Ken Shamrock shortly followed by Coleman. And I hated Tito for his disrespect to Shamrock, but most of it was to hype up the matches and business, most of it wasn't even personal. But, Tito showed so much heart and he's going to mature/grow from this fight. I saw a man tonight when i watched Tito. I was impressed. I still dont like him but i respect the hell out of him.
PS. I was kinda called out for saying i was a fan since "day 1" you r right, i exaggerated a little, i started watchig it during UFC 8-10 sumwhere in that line, but def. have all the ones b4 that on VHS!!! I know my history.

Although I'm not a fan of the same fighters as you... Tito did show a ton of heart tonight. In my opinion he is a close second in that weight class. He had a good gameplan tonight but couldn't excute a solid takedown.

He was more of a man in defeat tonight than he has ever been in the past.

I was impressed with Tito tonight as well, both in the fight and in the post-fight interview.
While he could have done a better job clinching and/or setting up takedowns as Couture repeatedly noted, Tito showed a lot of heart. He could have easily been finished in that 1st round. He also showed some good stand-up. He was hitting Chuck with quite a few shots, could have definitely dropped a fighter with a lesser chin.
His post-fight interview was pure class (can't believe I'm saying this about a Tito Ortiz post-fight). It was refreshing that he again dropped the "bad boy persona" as he has at times before (i.e. TUF 3).

i picked chuck as the winner but was surprised at tito's heart in surviving the first round and then winning the second round in two of the judges scorecards. he couldn't get a takedown effectively but held his own in the standup even though chuck was picking him apart most of the time
