I think he's losing it. Lack lustre performances against forest and rashad have cooled the casual fans appreciation for him imo.

Losing against Randy and chuck didnt help either.

I think the rashad fight was a big letdown and it really killed whatever momentum Tito had left at the time. they hyped up the fight and Tito talked a lot of junk (so did Rashad), but when fight night came around they put on a pretty boring show. I think everyone who saw that fight kind of realized that most top ten guys are not gonna lie down for him like shamrock did. granted, rashad is no pushover. but it wasn't so much about winning and losing as much as it was about Tito's work not keeping up with his mouth.

to put it plainly, i do not think a Tito/Rampage ppv would outsell a Forrest/Rampage ppv or even a Jardine/Rampage ppv. perhaps Tito could outdraw Machida or Thiago Silva at this point, but that's only because he's been around for so long. He may be a bigger draw now, but the time and money invested in new stars may pay off more than paying Tito what he wants.

what do you think?
I think your post greatly represents most of the delusional sherdog users on this forum. Tito Ortiz is a big draw. A lot of people talk sh*t about him but he is a big draw. I could go on and on with examples of how forum users and MMA analyst bash him or do not give him credit.

Josh Gross is a Tito hater. He talks about rankings all the time… his rankings should be called the JG ratings because he is not consistent with his logic. He said that Tito would have won the fight with Rashad had he not grabbed the fence. It was very obvious. Yet he is not even in the rankings. Why have Rashad in there when it is very obvious that Tito is a better fighter? Also, why would Gross say that he can see Tito beating Machida and still not have him in the rankings?

Randy Couture himself talked about how much better Tito looked in his fight with Liddell in the rematch. Tito has lost to Randy and Chuck. No one else recently and people are so quick to bash the guy. Dana uses his boxing match propaganda to hurt Tito's image and all you forum users fall for it. Tito did what Randy is doing now, yet when Tito did it he was a greedy scumbag! Hypocrites.

Most of the Sherdoggers on here are delusional and are far from objective.

Tito has a popular name associated with him, like Chuck.

So, he will definitely sell PPVs.

Maybe because rankings aren't based on who could win fights, but who has won fights. Duh..

His value is decreasing with time as he becomes less and less of an actual threat for the LHW title.

Tito
Couture
Liddell

Regardless of losses, these are the fighters that would bring out the biggest number of fans. A Liddell/Couture IV fight would still bring in an epic amount of money. Tito is still a huge draw, and thats why the UFC WILL re-sign him and give him more money.

Based on actual PPV buys, Ortiz is currently the UFC's #2 draw, even ahead of Couture. Don't know how much longer he'll be that big a draw, but we don't know for sure.

Tito is a huge draw cause he knows how to self promote. Plus you have to realize that when you talk about ppv buys, the vast majority of the people that buy ppvs are recreational fans that only buy when they have interest in that particular event meaning a fighter that they want to root for or against. Tito is one of those few people that gets people to watch him because someone wants to see him win or watch him get his ass kicked.
