yea what an idiot argument.

If the average person played rugby or hockey, chances are the person would live to tell the tale.

If the average person tried an ironman triathlon, chances are the person would drown during the 2.4 mile ocean swim and not even make it to the 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile marathon.

Also, I'm sure motor sports have the highest death rate...

People saying Hockey are out of it. Rugby is way harder and I think Marathon is a good one as well.

I said triathlon

Ironman Triathlon

"Held every fall in the US city of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the race encompasses three endurance events: a 2.4 mile (3.86 km) ocean swim in Kailua-Kona Bay, a 112 mile (180 km) bike ride across the Hawaiian lava desert to Hawi and back, and a marathon (26.2 mile, 42.2 km) along the coast of the Big Island (from Keauhou to Keahole Point to Kailua-Kona); finishing on Ali'i Drive."

I don't think it gets much more tough than that... the record is a little over 8 hours (for a trained athlete). How long is a hockey / rugby match?

GRUELING.

Fuck these target ads, shit.... All this comes down to is what people's definition/opinion of "tough" is..

Tito said hockey... I say Rugby... Joe Schmoe says Fishing...

It depends on how you look at it i.e. rate of death, injuries etc.. Or the fact of pushing your body to it's limit or playing tackle the man with the ball with no pads...

It's subjective and that's why this thread will have many pages or just get wastlelanded.

Hockey players play the game with chinstraps undone or loose with little more than a protective cap and eye shield on their head while football players use the newest technology, face guards, and the chinstrap always tight, and yet football still has 20 times the deaths/injuries? How many times is a hockey game stopped for injury compared to football games stopped for injury? Hockey players are tough but they don't come close to enduring the pain and injuries football players go through.
I heard more people die cycling thenany other sport, does this make them tough. You are probably right that football causes more injuries, but football is like religion in the USA. I bet that over 10 times more people play football than hockey. This alone would skew the results of any statistic. The physical conditioning of alot of football players is not near that of the average hockey players. Hockey players range from 190 to 265 and all are relatively cut. There are no 350 lb fat asses like you see in the NFL. These giants can cause alot of damage to others but are also easily injured relatively speaking. Fall the wrong way and a knee is blown. Having said that, there are two professional football players on the Edmonton Eskimos who fight in the Maximum fighting championship, and Marvin Eastman was a Calgary stampeder.(CFL teams)
