Cam Neely wasn't known as a fighter. Not saying he was a puss. But I would pick someone like Brendan Shanahan. He has a big right hand. And he can take a good punch. I doubt he could compete in the mma world. But I used to love seeing him rock people with detroit.

Try an ironman triathlon. That'll have every muscle in your body begging for mercy. Doesn't get much tougher than that.

Probably the world's toughest sporting event.

they obviously havent been sent to the sin bin. a lot of people think rugby players tape their ears to prevent cauliflower etc but its actually to prevent em from gettin ripped off in the scrums.

and dont forget cleats to the face and all during rucks which is minor and expected

Hockey is a touch sport.

It's tough on the body.

There is alot of fighting.

But there are so many tougher sports.

Anyone who has played rugby, rugby league, AFL properly will no how hard it is.

Rugby is low key an america and the competition is weak relative. Come play in AUZ, South Africa and New Zealand and you will how tough it can be.

In hockey you're basically encapsulated in armor. In rugby you're not.

But I still say Ironman Triathlon is tougher than both. By a landslide.

You argument fails horribly.
The link I provided also details injuries not just deaths for most major US sports. The facts show your argument fails. If hockey is such a tough sport why are the hockey deaths/injuries 5% of footballs and yet hockey plays 4 times more games? Hockey players play the game with chinstraps undone or loose with little more than a protective cap and eye shield on their head while football players use the newest technology, face guards, and the chinstrap always tight, and yet football still has 20 times the deaths/injuries? How many times is a hockey game stopped for injury compared to football games stopped for injury? Hockey players are tough but they don't come close to enduring the pain and injuries football players go through.

Everyone saying death rate equates to a sport being the toughest would have to back fishing as the toughest sport.

Taking into consideration the hard surface they play on, the momentum players have when they hit you from high speed, regular short but brutal fights, and a general lack of teeth, hockey has to be top 3 at least.
