There are some others that are training MMA. I watched a video on ESPN.com about lower league enforcers that mentioned something about them training. I do know Eric Boogaard(sp?) from Minnesota Wild trains some boxing. His coach claims he is good at it. Did the OP mean just any old player though? I doubt it and it really is a dumb question. Perhaps the reverse should be asked, could and UFC fighter play hockey?

Hmm the NHL and the UFC should do a cute little swap day... although GSP can skate really well, he'd own everybody at hockey.

Tito said Hockey was the 2nd toughest sport behind MMA; could any hockey player get into the UFC?
Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor asked Tito Ortiz "what is the second toughest sport behind MMA?" and Tito said it's got to be hockey because of what they are able to do on skates. He also said that hockey players are the toughest athletes.
What NHL player if any do you think any hockey player might make it into the UFC?

Steve Bosse is a couple fight away from the UFC, he used to be pro brawler in the american league.

Also, research has stated boxing is more determental to your health than MMA is so Boxing would be number 1....again, according to your theory that is.

Excellent point!
Furious pace,...your thread doesn't make sense.

there are actually a handful of minor league hockey players who fight mma, Jeremy Yablonski from the Binghamton Senators has fought a few times and I believe is undefeated, and few enforcers from the NHL train mma in the off season.

Id say Hockey, Rugby, Football are all really tough sports that you need balls to play, and tough in their own ways, just behind your combat sports like MMA, Boxing, and thai boxing.

I have played a lot of the tough sports out there. Rugby, hockey, football, wrestling, and now muay thai and I can honestly say rugby is the toughest out of all of them. Getting stomped on by 220+ pound guys wearing m-e-t-a-l cleats really hurts like hell

Rugby and Boxing.
It's funny how people will mention how boxing leads to death, brain damage, etc but forget to mention that its "rough".

Darren McCarty is quite psychotic, as is Chris Simon.
