It's all academic to me. The cable provider where I live (Comcast) doesn't carry HDNet at all. I switched to DirecTV 100% because of HDNet and don't regret it a bit.
Cheers!

I switched from Mediacom cable a couple of years ago for DirecTV for HDNet and I am very glad I did. I had service with Comcast, Mediacom cable, Dish Network, AT&T Uverse (at my dad's for a few months), and DirecTV and I can say that I like DirecTV the best. They provide the most channels (Spike HD,...) and the best service in my opinion.
Comcast is terrible and over priced. I have never had Time Warner but if I did and they canceled HDNet, I would switch providers without a second thought. I know negotiations are not one sided but in this case, as MMA fans we should support HDNet. The station is an MMA fan's DREAM come true. They go all out with their MMA programming. DREAM, Sengoku, K-1, MFC, Inside MMA, XFC, Affliction undercards,............................. ........
The choice is yours but as I said, for an MMA fan it seems simple.

Called TW today and downgraded my shit... Still furious over the issue. Furthermore, this thread title is retarded. I originally came in believing there was some call to action to get HDNET back on TW and every time i see it stickied I get angrier that there is no real information from the TS on why the service got booted in the first place and if anything is in the plans for the future to reclaim the spot.

Let me see if I can simplify - Cable 101 - TWC pays us a fee per subscriber we have to the tier. Lets say 25 cents. We offered to cut that fee, lets say to 20 cents, if they would move us off of the HD premium tier and into digital basic cable, where more people could get our network. They refused, and our contract with them expired, so they pulled the network. We are still talking to them, but have no plans right now to be back on TWC.
You can check this link for TWC alternatives in the meantime.

Thank you for clearing that up, I appreciate you breaking it down in a way that was easy to understand.
I am die hard fan of HDNET and the excellent MMA programming that they offer.
Sadly, I live in Manhattan where the majority of the buildings only allow one provider for the entire building.
That being said, I have made a call to TWC and aired my gripes over letting the contract run out and have subsequently canceled that entire tier of service.
I know it sounds silly, but when I move in the future, one of the criteria I will be using when weighing my decision is whether the building offers FiOs (Verizon) or DirectTV.
I hope enough others canceled the tier after the contract meltdown and complain enough to TWC to help resume negotiations.
Furthermore, are there currently any streaming options available (paid or free) for viewers who are not able to change their cable plan? I know clips are shown on blip.tv but am not aware of anything else.
Thanks
James
PS: Adding what you just posted as an addendum to your original post might be helpful for those who are just stumbling on the thread for the first time.

Basically, HDNet wants more money, but asked for it in a way that makes them look like the good guy.
There isn't enough expressed desire for the channel to have TWC put it on the regular tier, thereby charging EVERYONE for it and not just those with the premium tier.
Sure they dropped the subscriber fee to 20 cents, but they're asking TWC to make probably 100x the amount of people pay it instead of just those who purchase the tier.
