Most switched one thing and plugged a monitor in and said the signal was good.
The sixth guy sat and watched it for a bit and saw it fluctuating.

He determined it wasn't my house's wiring (which was all the other guys were saying)
They had to fix the local node (or somesuch) and my neighbors were having the same problems.

I was pretty annoyed.

When is Cuban going to come to his senses and back down from his ridiculous demands? If he wanted the channels on the basic tier, he should have negotiated for this when the channels were originally added to Time Warner.

I may have better technicians in my area I don't know but I've had few problems and all were actually fixed over the phone.

I've had a lot fixed over the phone.
About every six months my internet goes down, I do the 'unplug/replug/poweroff/poweron' thing and then call if the problem persists.
I get around the helperbot by hitting 0.
I tell them that I need an advanced support guy.
I tell him that the switch needs to be flipped.

I don't really know what switch I'm talking about, but they toggle something and the modem comes back to life.

But this more recent thing was just terrible.
My favorite was when one of the guys thought there were too many splits between the pole and the modem, so he asked if we were watching tv in rooms other than the living room, I said 'no.'
He clipped out the connections to the other rooms and replaced the splitters with splices for a stronger signal.

That didn't fix the problem and when I asked TWC to have the next guy who was coming to fix the modem problem to add some of the splitters back they said they'd charge $40ish dollars. Oh, I tore into that guy.

I called Comcast, and was told no Comcast available in HI. Also, I was told HI and Alaska are the worst for satellite reception. Competition is supposed to mean better service.

I called around and found no AT&T, no Everest service to my home.
Midwest is terrible for satellite because of storms.

I dont have exact numbers, but the rate we were negotiating was lower than we previously had, and reached more households. It also split HDNet and HDNet Movies into separate tiers (and separate rates). Check this link for more - http://bit.ly/14YLaC

i looked up the situation after cancelling my HD suite due to no HDNET. the fees HDNET were asking for were LOWER than their old prices. they wanted HDNET on the basic HD lineup at a lower price and HDNET movies still in the HD tier. TWC chose to no go with that for some insane reason. and lost my $. hope everyone out there is cancelling their HD suite and sending in emails and calling. going to look into satellite if it doesn't come back soon.

Time Warner has shown that they don't care about their customers. First it was the NFL Network and now HDNET. The combination of the two is enough to make me switch to Dish Network.
