I'm just going to get AT&T. A friend of mine at school has AT&T and he can record 4 channels at once, has no contract, can record shows from his computer and phone, pays 30 less than I do for the exact same service (2 DVR boxes, HD cable, and Internet), again no contract, and has HDNet. There's no contest, just give Time Warner the middle finger and get AT&T

I pay more than enough to TWC each month. HDNET should lower their price so TWC don't have to screw me for anymore money each month. Their service is much better than any other available in NYC so I'm not switching for one channel.

From what I hear they are currently giving new prices to TWC for review.
Hopefully they break up the two channels since only one is useful and the other is not very watched atm, and that is the one they want the more money for.

HDnet decided to split the channels... thats all great. HDnet we all watched because it was mma tv.... the other their movie channel was never watched but they wanted it to stay on the pay hd tier, and they wanted more money for it... and the two channels were a package twc could not simply just have hdnet and not their movie channel.

Time Warner can do a census of what channels are currently watched how often every month... I can put a large amount of money that aside from the MMA community the channels were not being watched especially when MMA was not on. Their movie channel was definitely not being watched. How would it make financial sense for a company to pay MORE money for a movie channel not being watched come negotiation time.

It doesn't make sense. Yes it sucks we can no longer watch hdnet but realistically why is Mark Cuban trying to get more $$$ for less product on his part.

They refused, and our contract with them expired, so they pulled the network. We are still talking to them, but have no plans right now to be back on TWC.

You can check this link for TWC alternatives in the meantime.
I want to re simplify this if I may.

So currently only people with the HDtier aka "$5" a month addition to their bill were getting hdnet and hdmovies.

HDnet decided they wanted to change the line up.

So lets say only 15% of time warner customers were subscribing to the "HD TIER"... they were getting 25cents per customer... Not too bad I suppose.

If they changed their lineup and put hdnet and hdmovies on their full line up where EVERY customer gets it. That 15% of customers jumps to 100% of digital cable subscribers.

They would be getting 20 cents for every customer who has digital cable. Thus making a ton more money.

Anyone who doesn't see this as a huge increase in payment toward Time Warner is blind. HDNet decided they wanted more money... A LOT more money.

Going from the pay tier where they get money per subscriber to the free tier where they get money per digital cable customer. Thats a HUGE increase in customers/fee's

Realistically if only MMA fans watch HDnet which is more then likely true AND we didnt mind paying to see it I mean really whats $5 more a month or less depending on your deal.... Why would hdnet want to change the arrangement thus screwing us out of our programing because they got greedy.

I DARE you to correct me if I am wrong. Which I know I am not.

probably the lamest move anyone couldve done. you guys at hdnet know how the economy is right now. i cant afford to switch cable providers.

the least you guys could do is give back to your viewers and think of us before yourselves.

why no mod moved this thread to wasteland confuses me.
