His last three fights looked REALLY impressive to me anyway. Made it a very short night for Karo, Hughes and even Kos! I can definitely see why his name is entering into the p4p talks, but I'd really rather wait to see how he handles GSP before putting him on that list. If he wins (which I think he will) then it's a definite no-brainer.

honestly thiago gets no respect on these forums when was that loss to fisher by the way? the guy has improved drastically in the past 2 years and as far as i am concerned the undisputer number 1 contender

he beat three top 10 welterweights in a row all very convincingly who has a better run this year than him

He's certainly put together an impressive win streak... I guess the whole 3 in a row over top 10 opponents is the reason he is on the P4P list

I agree, the same thing goes for GSP. P4P should be more about pure skill and less about size and strength.

Top 20 p4p? Maybe he's on the top 40 p4p list.

he has to be top 10 he's knocked off 3 top 10 oppenents in his weight class. I don't think you can say that he's not top 10 p4p becuase of his weight cut. That would be like someone saying matt hughes should have fought at middleweight because he was stronger than everyone else. If Thiago or anyone can make a huge weight cut that's just more power to them, don't forget Anderson is a massive guy as well he cuts about 20-30 pounds. Back on topic he's def. earned his p4p ranking.

Peace

GSP walks around at about 186 lbs so no. There are several top WW's that cut more weight than he does.

In any case Alves is by far not the biggest problem. To say that Nog's overall technical and physical abilities are better than guys like Faber and Torres is not sane. P4P is about pure ability, possibly divided by your weight. HW's aren't P4P material (that would completely contradict why P4P was made) so Nog is overrated.
