are there any other Tito fans who do NOT want him to be champ again?
having been an MMA fan back when Tito was at the top, I can't say that I want to see the belt around his waist ever again. Before you get the wrong idea, I like Tito as a fighter and have mad respect for the way he trains (both himself and his fighters). Tito has always been a great fighter with the discipline to train like an animal for all of his fights, but despite all of this he was (and still would be IMO) a terrible champion.
Back when Tito was champ he turned the UFC into a big soap opera (tho Ken Shamrock was largely responsible for this too). He shot his mouth off every day, yet he only fought like once a year, if even that.
On top of this, he repeatedly declined the challenges of Chuck Liddell, who was the #1 contender for a couple of years by the time Ortiz finally agreed to fight him. Chuck claimed that Tito was scared while Tito said that he refused to fight because of money (and later contradicted himself by saying that he didn't want to fight Chuck because they were friends). Either way, this is not the sign of a great champion.
Moreover, he continued mouthing off about Chuck WHILE HE REFUSED TO FIGHT HIM. It's also rather annoying how he insists on making fun of Chuck's gut regardless of the fact that it obviously has not held him back in the slightest.
Tito's a great fighter and I have a lot of the respect for the man, and on top of that I am not a Chuck nuthugger. Tito may or may not be able to beat Chuck, I don't know and I think it's pointless to make assumptions, but for the sake of the UFC I really hope Chuck scores the KO because I consider him to be a better champion as he NEVER turns down a challenge (even as a #1 contender he would repeatedly put his shot at the title on the line against dangerous opponents) and on top of that he let's his fists do the talking rather than his mouth. What's great is that he doesn't even need his mouth really because his fists generate all of the publicity that the UFC needs.
It seems odd that I would call myself a Tito fan and root for him to lose against Chuck, but I just cant' help but to think that Tito sucked as a champion and would be no better today if he were to win the belt.
Thoughts? (replies from other non-Tito haters are especially appreciated)

It seems very odd to me too. My thought is that you could have just said "Ortiz is a good trainer but sucks as a fighter".

Tough to say, I like both of them a lot. We do know how Tito acted as a champion in the past, but I don't think that means we know how he would act if he regained the title. Perhaps he has matured a bit.
I guess I don't really care who wins, I want to see a great fight.

I like tito as a fighter, but as a person he has little character, he mouths off, and show little respect, unless he loses, i used to be a fan of his, not anymore, i hope chuck does tito's little gravedigger dance.

I think Tito has grown up since then, and you also have to remember that the UFC didn't have 20 shows a year back then.

Tito has a crazy work ethic and would be a better champion the second time around. The guy looks like he is starting to "get it" and is an excellent trainer for other fighters.
That being said, Chuck is going to KO Tito like the first time. Tito doesn't have the tools to beat him, it is just a bad bad matchup for his skill set.

I have to admit that he talk too much trash sometimes, but he definately wont fight only once a year, he says after every fight that its good for him to fight more often, and since "The worlds most retarded man" Shamrock aint fighting no more it wont be so much bullshit.
Maybe Chuck will become Titos new Ken Shamrock?
Looked at the UFC66-page, Tito said nice things about Chuck and Chuck had nothing nice to say about Tito at all
