Mark Hunt?

Would it be fair to say that Mark Hunt has one of the best stand-up games in MMA today? Would it also be fair to say that he quite possibly has the strongest jaw and hardest strikes in MMA today? I by no means think he is the best heavyweight in MMA- I've just heard a lot of people confirm these statements. Do you agree?

I agree that he has argueably the best stand-up, but in a MMA, your standup Skills are judged relative the Overall game of other fighters. Thats why he doesn't really Standout.

If he can improve on submission and sub-defense, then he will become a threat in peoples eyes

Meh. Arguably, but barely. He hits like a truck, but many hit harder and faster. What makes him so good at standup is that he just can't be hurt. He can't even be stunned. He ate a CC LHK and fell over, but stood up and laughed at himself in K1, then ate another one in Pride without blinking.

I'd say CC has the best standup over all, but Hunt's chin > anyone's standup

Hunt has very good boxing and a great chin/beard. Does he have one of the best standup games in MMA? Well he gave CroCop and Wand problems. So you would think he does but then again I think there's a lot of guys out there who are way more refined in terms of MMA striking.

I do agree with the post... Hunt's Chin > everyone's standup

His defence consists of blocking shots with his head and a lot of his punches are clubbing shots.

It's effective for him but it can't be described as good striking by any stretch.

Best Chin, yes. Everything else is questionable...

I agree with most of the posts, his stand up skills work for him because he throw wide open shots and eat big punches laughing them off. His head is made of concrete and thats what makes him tough standing.
