Sylvia vs. Fedor: Sylvia loses by idiocy - Page 2

i love the ufc, but pride's hw division is light years ahead of the ufc's. there's at least four guys in pride's hw division who could beat tim
- fedor would beat sylvia. tim might have the edge when it comes to striking simply because of his reach. but fedor is strong enough to take tim down and has enough of a chin to survive until he can take tim down. and i think tim would last about 15 seconds on the ground with fedor
- big nog would beat tim for the same reasons that fedor would beat tim. big nog is a strong guy with decent striking, good takedowns, a great chin, and excellent grappling.
- mark hunt would be a terrible matchup for tim. tim wouldn't be able to ko hunt, and it would only be a matter of time before hunt dropped him. i know tim's never been knocked out, but he's been rocked by aa several times. and i like aa, but there's no way that aa can hit anywhere near as hard as hunt
- barnett's wrestling is awesome. sylvia has never fought a guy with wrestling as good as barnett's. barnett would take him down and sub him or gNp him. tim would have a puncher's chance, but my money would still be on barnett

So, you heard, you think, you blah blah blah. Sylvia fought Ricco and took him out, slammed his ass onto the mat, did the same to Mir, but got caught on the way up. Tim hasnt been taken down, BECAUSE he has good takedown defense. You wont see him taken down easily. Fedor isnt big enough or strong enough to take him down. He will have to fight Tim's game, which is why Tim is so deceptively good. He looks silly, maybe, but packs one hell of a punch and wins 92% of the time. Sounds good to me.

assuerio silva tried to take him down. and tim showed pretty good td defense in that fight. problem is, the technique he uses for td defense (grabbing the fence) is illegal in the ufc

tim could easily be taken down by a good wrestler

Also, Fedor's record is identical to tims in terms of win/loss. He got beat by Kohsaka who is 19-11 and lost to Ricco, who Tim beat. He got beat by Randy Couture, Babalu. We can argue forever about who is better, but only seeing them fight will prove anything. Just cut the bashing and admit that Tim is good enough to face Fedor. He is the best in UFC and deserves a chance. Until we see that fight, we wont know.

It's called Fight Finder. On a mathematical level, the playing field is level. I am not saying that Tim has accomplished what Fedor has, but that neither of them have lost much and Tim was rumored before Sylvia/AA 1 to have an injured ankle, which would explain the quick tap. He didn't tap when he got his arm snapped, he wouldn't tap unless he thought he was going to be seriously injured. Fedor is NOT GOD. do you people get it? I would like to see the fight and would bet on Tim, for the fact that the odds would be great and he could win. I think Fedor WOULD win, but also that Tim could win. How hard is it to figure out that when 2 men fight, they both ave a 50/50 chance of winning?

MarkCow by your last post its obvious your are an MMA newb. First off Fedor has never fought Couture. Second he handled Babalu easily. Matter of fact months back Babalu said he was the toughest fighter he has ever faced. Get your facts straight man, cause your fucking wrong.
