Kenflo fought brillianty. It was exciting to see the MT and striking all come together. He made a very tough good fighter look bad. Id much rather watch that than two unskilled guys brawling. Although two skilled guys brawling can be fun. And Machida is the next LHW and #1 champ in the world so if you dont like him boo fucking hoo. He schooled Tito. And people saying those 2 fighters ran need to watch the tapes and look at their opponents faces after the fight. Elusive is not running.

Us MMA fans don't want strategy, we want badazz fights. Countering and using a jab is for pussies, real men throw haymakers and superman punches. If you want tactics, go back to your dying sport of boxing.

The majority of Chuck's fights involve jabs and evasiveness until that one haymaker punch hits. Jabs are for pussies? Fail. Jabs are for champions.

I've learned that you will go crazy trying to understand internet opinions.
The truth is people will say stupid shit because of internet anonymity. On the internet, people aren't afraid to open their mouths on subjects that they do not understand and present their opinion.
Think of the difference... If someone walked up to a couple of people having a conversation, and they knew absolutely nothing about the subject... that person would keep their mouth shut and just listen waiting for the subject to change. No one is going to even attempt BS'ing in the conversation. Now lets move to the internet, where you don't have to worry about looking stupid and then looking that person in the eye. You just might join in on that topic..
There are so many people new to the sport that it's easy for online posters to fake expertise passing their misbelief or uninformed opinion as a fact. (If you have trained, fought, have deep knowledge of an art, it's very easy to tell who knows what they are talking about.)
The Brock article by Jordan Breen on the front page addresses alot of the stupidity on sherdog.

You true MMA fans. You real MMA fans. You guys are idiots. You make me sick. Reading some of your posts is like talking to a drunken idiot at a bar telling me how fighters should go toe to toe and be a man. "Don't run...ya know...get in there and throw dogs...ya know?"
What happened to a fighter using a strategy? Should a fencing champion that is fighting a samurai go "toe to toe" and abandon the style he is winning with? Should he stick with only power moves and fight just like his opponent because that would please the "real fans?"
A fighter that hits an opponent ONE time and then runs for every round that follows just to win a decision on points is a coward. Someone that sticks and moves and employs a solid game plan against a strong brawler is a SMART FIGHTER!
Have any of you MMA EXPERTS ever heard of boxing? Have you ever heard of classic bouts like Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman?! If you people were asked on the street what you thought about Ali's famous "rope-a-dope" strategy you would say how great it was. How smart it was to allow a big brawler (with a 40-0 win record, 37 by KO) to tire himself out and stick and move. But when KenFlo avoids Huerta's big punches and using smart striking combined, smart take downs combined with an evasive style...you say that he is running. Yes, Ali KO'd Foreman in the 8th round, but even if the fight went to a decision it was all Ali.
Now that we have the evolution of MMA and multiple disciplines fighting one another, you dismiss any fighter that isn't a KO specialist and call fighters that employ a strategy based on their physical strengths/weaknesses and their opponents strengths/weaknesses a "runner" or a "pussy?"
If you want to see two dudes throwing bombs at one another till someone gets KO'd, you should stop watching MMA, and certainly stop considering yourself a "true fan."

I agree with your rant 100% but your going to get a lot of useless responses

Wow. Scary words for anyone, especially someone with a George Foreman/Ali avatar. Here's to hoping you are being sarcastic.

Agreed.
Some people like Florian/Machida's style and some don't. Simple as that. If you don't like Machida/Florian/etc so much fine, but don't call them pussies. They've done something none of you have, and that's stepped in a cage and fought someone one on one.
I for one found the Florian/Huerta fight exciting. It wasn't anything like the way I anticipated.
Good thread btw.
