I agree with you 100%

But on the other hand...

When i drink a couple of beers and watch UFC with some friends I dont want to see Machida - Ortiz...

We (some drunk guys) thought Kenflo - Huerta was an exciting match though.. and enjoyed Kenny.. he was really good, especially the third round... very technical using the distance like a world class MT-fighter.

strategy is fine when you are actively trying to finish a fight. That Kenny Florian fight was a joke and reminded me why I stopped buying baxing PPV's. I hope this does not start a trend in mma where fighters dont fight and simply try to outpoint each other...

Yeah know what else has no place in MMA? Whining. Bitching. Belly aching and these damn threads. So what if other people don't see it your way. Do what the rest of us do. Grab a newspaper, go into the bathroom and take a fucking shit. It'll clear out your head and boyo, you'll realize that it really didnt mean that much in the first place.

The joke is on you because you're it. If you believe that KenFlo wasn't fighting and was just trying to outpoint Huerta...then you are the type of fan I made this thread for. I'm sure if you were fighting in the UFC and had won the first two rounds with solid take downs, submission attempts and better striking, you would abandon that strategy and try something new.

You're an idiot.

I understand your point but I think what we need to keep in mind is that MMA is a relitively new sport and many of the people who have become 'fans' of the it are only in it for the blood and brutality. Think of "just bleed" guy. He represents a lot of MMA fans. That's the mentality of many newer MMA fans/ Just bleed. These guys are never going to appreciate a fighter like machida.

Ultimatelty it's going to take time for the fans to become more educated as to what is exactly going on in the cage. I was actually impressed at the way the crowd at UFC 87 applauded the opening fight between jason Mcdonald and Demian Maia. Givew the fans in the US a good 5 years and you might actually have some real knowledgable MMA fans.

I have to agree that the whole point of this thread was to point out to everyone what a "TRUE" fan of MMA and perhaps combat sports you are.

Although you have a good point that people need to relax when they call intelligent fighters like Florian and Machida "cowards" when they employ their stick and move strategies you need to get off your high horse by calling all of us idiots.

You CANNOT equate what Ali did to Foreman with what Florian did to Huerta. Ali rode the ropes for 5 five rounds taking a beating from Foreman as oppose to the stick and move strategy you speak of with regards to Florian. In the case of Ali, he wouldn't be considered a coward because he took a massive beating. Did you actually watch the Ali/Foreman fight or did you just catch the highlights from one of the many Ali biographies?
