Can anyone in their right mind actually say that chuck is a better fighter than Shogun? Look how Shogun walked through the worlds greatest LHW's in the GP. Lil Nog, Overeem, Rampage and Arona. These guys were all top 5 at the time. How can you really believe in your heart Chuck has done anything close to this. He beat Bablu who he already beat and we know Babalu's striking was never on chucks level. I'm not bashing Chuck, hes the numer 2 or 3 fighter in the world but serioulsy stop hugging the UFC's nuts just because you are American. In a perfect world the UFC and Pride would be exactly even as far as talent goes but they are not because they have more money. Why can't some of you guys see reality? Isnt it enough for you that UFC has a better Welterweight and Middleweight division?

Right now Pride fighters never defend their belts, it is just a shiny accessory as of right now. If they fought more then 1 title defense a year then your point might matter.

Pride fighters never defend their belts outside of their organization is the problem. That's why its dying a slow death. And also, there just isn't (unless you're in Japan) that EXCITEMENT factor with Pride. I mean US fans and western fans for that matter respond better to the UFC because the marketing strategy is genius. Your face is plastered everywhere, advertising up the ass with the UFC if you're one of their fighters. Hype beyond all imagination. Even make believe hype.

If you know nothing about MMA, you're not gonna know what Pride is or Bushido or care because Pride does a piss poor job of marketing the great fighters they have. Yeah, what's the whole deal with Pride only making their champs defend the belt what, like twice a decade. The UFC has at least one title fight every 2 months, I can't remember the last time I saw a Pride belt on the line.

Fight network shows all the old pride fights for free. They watch by accident thinking it is WWE and then they become experts on MMA. There really should be a test that you have to pass to post and an even more difficult exam to start threads.
