Icon6 Standing 8 Count?

When Tito Won via ref stoppage of Shamrock, Shamrock jumped to his feet saying he was ready to fight. (He did the same againt Sakuraba) Why dont they add a standing 8 count, as in boxing. When a ref stops a fight to protect the fighter, and the fighter then seems unhurt, its hard to say if the stoppage was correct. So why not add the standing 8 count, (loose a point to the victim) then let the fight resume, It will be an added bonus to the fans, who often pay large dollars to watch.
(ive seen way to many flash knockouts stopped< plus if the guy winning really hurt him he should be able to repeat the knockout)
Any Ideas on this?

I don't like it. It would take away from the excitement of a sudden flurry of punches dropping a fighter, and the ensuing ground and pound for the win.

would work only if used in extreme cases when the fighter isnt hurt, but ref sided on caution.

yeah, it doesnt work in mma due to the opponent being able to pummel a man as he falls and is dazed, the standing count would break up the chances for that shit happening, at the least it stops you from finishing your opponent

it would have worked in Ken's case but most other fights, the fighter isn't able to rebound like that. I bet Ken was still dazed after that flurry and it would have only added a minute or two more is all.

that wouldnt work, what if somebody gets flash KOd than ref jumps in and gives him 10 sec to recover... thats not mma... if you flash KO him, you should be able to jump on him and finish him.

It would add to the amount of brain injury a fighter sustains. In my opinion, standing 8 counts only give you enough time to go out and receive more blows to the head.
