During the pre-fight smack talk, Hughes mentioned a few times that the "Gracies" and not in particular Royce, thought they were the best. I think Hughes made a point to target the Gracie/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu myth once and for all. In, doing so, I can't help but notice a major rift opening up in MMA. You have the dominating MMA team from the USA: Militech camp (Hughes, Silvia etc...), the Japanese fighters (Pride), the Brazilians (Gracies, Wanderlei, etc...) the Eastern Block/Russian guys: Fedor, Cro cop, Arlovski and finally the Canadians (GSP, Loussieu etc)

In the UFC, the USA crowd is currently on top: Silvia, Hughes, Franklin. In the past it was Gracie, Arlovski, Wanderlei. By beating the crap out of Gracie last night, I think 'team USA' put an exclaimation on their current state of dominating the UFC. The next threat is Arlovski, who threaten's this domination. Personally I would like to see Wandelei take on Hughes, as revenge for all BJJ guys. Just like he did with Sakuraba (the gracie killer).

Didn't know wanderlei was a UFC fighter.
Tim might be on top now, but I think that Arlovski will regain that crown.

wanderlei used to fight ufc, but im talking about the mma community as a whole. so many good fighterrs out there, too bad ufc can't import a few in exchange for diego sanchez and kenny florian, and riggs.
