Something about PPV buys we don't take into consideration.

Bars and restaurants are charged based on their capacity. Some places could end up spending close to $1000 per event. So let's say the UFC sells 500,000 PPV buys at $44.95 for an event, their actual gross revenue will be way more than $22,475,000 before splitting with the providers.

This is something Affliction fans should take into consideration as well (assuming there were some bars that showed Banned).

I've always wondered what Hooters pays for a PPV. Some bars in Chicago that regularly show Sunday night WWE PPVs have a $5 cover or a two-drink minimum.

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly how much per seat they have to pay but I know it ends up to be a lot. I tried to get my boss to order a UFC a while back and he told me about that. Makes you wonder how much they really make off of PPV's. Think about how many bars accross America show UFC events.

I understand if it's a franchise. I doubt local bars would do that.

My understanding is that 1000 or so bars in the US order PPVs. Lets say the average is $1000. $1000 * 1000 bars is $1,000,000 dollars.

Then 500,000 PPV buys at $45 per buy, $22,500,000, giving them $23,500,000 PPV gross.

However, the current deal the UFC has between in demand and directv averages out to 50/50.

That means the UFC gets $11,750,000 PPV revenues per event. They still have to pay a lot of that out to cover various costs.

Don't disseminate the wrong numbers, jerzeydevil. UFC ain't makin a 22 million profit per event.

On a side note, because the UFC is consistantly bringing in good PPV figures they are able to negotiate a better deal with providers. This will give them even more profit.

I'm on my IPhone right now so I can't link the article, but it's the headline on the homepage at MMAPayout.com. If someone could link it for me I'd appreciate it.

No, I get that they get around half. Was net profit the wrong term? My bad. I meant before the provider takes their cut.
