So why did the UFC show the Sonnen/Okami fight on the PPV?

I was going to post this the night of the fight but the Shogun/Machida decision topics would have spammed it off.

But this fight which was an under card bout seemed really odd to throw on PPV since it was a boring wrestling match. I know the bar I was at when watching it most people just walked outside during it because it was that boring.

How are they going to bring in new fans when they shove boring wrestling matches down our throats.

Didn't look like a boring wrestling match to me. I thought it was a good fight, and a lot of it took place standing.

and even if the fight was boring (which it wasn't) why would people walk outside? can't you drink at that bar? or by bar you mean juice bar? or by bar you mean GHEY bar?

To take up time so the card would be longer and so they could show he lost and prove why they didnt give him a title shot

I love MMA but I cannot say I was thoroughly entertained with Okami vs. Sonnen, especially since I was expecting an exciting fight since it was a prelim being bumped up. Personally though, I probably would have seen the fight either way, but in terms of appealing to the public, I don't think putting the fight on there was a good idea.

I thought Yushin deserved to be on the main card way more than Neer and Tibau, and even in hindsight I still think this, but none the less, it was a somewhat uneventful battle, with Okami being on the defense the whole time and Chael not having enough offense to do some serious damage.
