So is the UFC just going to keep running shows in LV and Cali?

It seems the UFC is just running shows in California and Las Vegas and ignoring the rest of the country. I don't think they should go back to Mohegan sun or Atlantic city because they usually draw the worst crowds but why not northern Jersey, Texas, Chicago, or Boston?

i really doubt it would be worth the risk of leaving california or vegas yet because they could not be sure of a sell out in a new area (i do know they have been other places before) with ticket prices as high as they are

The UFC is trying to pass it in Chicago. From what I understand, MMA technically is not legal in Illinois, but some how some orgs. are getting around it here in central Illinois, but for the UFC it wouldn't fly bc it's a major promotion. I don't really know, maybe Chicago just has a city ordinance on MMA.

However, I can't wait till the day MMA is legal Chicago.

I think they could sell out little hockey arenas, I wouldn't go to a stadium or concert hall though.
There is about 5 guys at my work who watch the PPV's with me. I introduced 2 guys before the TUF show and the rest found out about it though TUF. A guy brings in a tape of the event to watch on night shift and everyone on nights is into it. That is a lot of people who like it but just got into it a year or two ago. I think they could do fine on the road.

Continental airlines arena would definetly sell out, its only 5 minutes from NYC.

The Ultimate Texas Showdown here in Dallas sells out over 5,000 seats, and its just a local show, with little promotion. The UFC would have no problem IMO selling out a larger venue such as Reunion Arena (old Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks arena) or the American Airlines Center.

Dana White has said he's looking at other places, he has said they're looking at Chicago, and would like to have a PPV in Texas before the end of this year or early 2007 in either Dallas or Houston
