"Shogun vs. Coleman = Fedor vs. Coleman"

That is also one of my thoughts but...

I really wonder in what shape Shogun will be because Brazilian fighters seem to have short expiration dates. I just have the feeling Shogun is going to disappoint so I'll say Coleman by GnP.

His striking has always been sloppy, but his pace and aggression made it effective prior to snapping his arm. Since then, he has really struggled to do maintain the pace & aggression that made him famous, and as a result he has struggled in the standup department. He has turned into more of a grappling and ground & pound guy since the injury.

Cutting to 205 is a non-issue. Coleman has been weighing in at around 225 in his most recent fights. Cutting less than 10% of bodyweight is nothing for an life-long wrestler. He can likely cut that weight just through diet and electrolyte manipulation without ever stepping into a sauna.

Are you on drugs? Losing muscle and water at that age is very demanding to your body. 205 and 225 are two very different weight ranges and at 46 to lose 20 pounds is suicidal when fighting someone like Shogun who fights naturally at 205 anyways.

I think the odds of shogun submitting Coleman are the highest.

I could see this playing out like Fedor - Coleman I.

Shogun should win this by strikes, round 1 or 2 at the most.

Shogun by TKO.

I like Shogun as a fighter, but his delusional & disrespectful fans often leave me rooting for the other guy.

Does anyone remember how the 'Forrest Griffin memorial' thread turned out? Because I recall Shogun fans talking the same shit about Forrest having no chance.
I usually read through a bunch of respnses before posting but the above statemetn is almost exactly my initial thoughts after reading the Thread. The TS must be tired from going back and forth between coleman's and Shogun's camps to get all that pertanent information about their gameplans. Maybe it's just me but how can someone be so damn confidnet in someone else's abilities? I for one am not the most accurate prognasticator, but the TS is so sure of how the fight will go down it is almost scary. And who knows they could be right on the money, but I like to think I give fighters more of a chance, even if I do not like them as fighters. No one knows how the second meeting will go down. Just because they fought once before in Pride and coleman fought fedor, how does this equate to total domination this time around. They are too many intangables to accuratly predict this fight, IMO. Coleman has not fought in a handful of years, he is fighting at a new weight of 205. Rua is coming off surgery if I am not mistaken and it is his first fight back. The two fought a few years ago for a different organization with different rules and the fight was haulted due to an inury not directly inflicted by either fighter (coleman did not break Rua's arm and Rua did not injure his arm in an offensive or defensive manner, it broke trying to break a fall). There is just too many elements to show that neither fighter is the same as they were when they first met.
