hahaha..
"One of the problems in discussing accuracy figures and the differences between the statistics quoted by proponents and opponents of the polygraph technique is the way that the figures are calculated. At the risk of over simplification, critics, who often don't understand polygraph testing, classify inconclusive test results as errors. In the real life setting an inconclusive result simply means that the examiner is unable to render a definite diagnosis. In such cases a second examination is usually conducted at a later date."
this from proponents of polygraphy (oh i used ur search terms to find this)

THE POINT: IF we assume that inconclusive tests are NOT ERRORS and instead have to be just counted as missing data, it doesnt fukin matter if u 'achieve' a rate of accuracy in an isolated study of 96% because the fukin MARGIN of error would be so high that ur findings couldnt used as conclusive evidence for or against.
some of the intervening factors that make polygraphs unreliable:
-misinterpretation of the data on the charts
-lack of training and experience of the polygraph examiner
-counter-measures from the examinee
-a lack of quality control review
-equipment malfunction
-failure to properly prepare the examinee for the examination
-poorly worded test questions
-improper assessment of the examinee's emotional and physical condition ·
-improper use of testing techniques
quoting shit off google searches is as accurate a means of finding truth as predicting the weather by looking at a goat's ass.
EDIT: and NO, CNN and MSNBC dont fukin count as credible sources either.
