ring over octagon?

i've seen little blurbs in the past about people preferring the ring over the octagon?

why?

i don't see anything better about a ring versus an octagon.

Me personally it doesn't bother me where the fight takes place, but it always annoyed me in pride when they'd have to restart the fight in the center.

oh and i used search so don't flame

The ring favours strikers and the cage favours grapplers.

I dont think Randy would be able to implement the same gameplans at all in the ring. And everyone clearly saw what happened to a pure striker in Crocop in the cage. Bad angles and easily held/pushed against the cage.

The ring and the octagon have its good points and bad points.

the cage can usually cause stalling when the fighters lean up against it.

the ring has the stupid restarts in the middle of the match.

so its really even for me. I like both of them

How does the cage look gay? The cage gives the fight an "underground" feel. I prefer the cage cause I hate fighters using the ropes to escape punishment.

Me too...

Cage or Ring?

PRIDE ring v. UFC Octagon

Why is the Ring better than the Cage?

Why doesnt Pride go with a cage.

Does fighting in a Cage or Ring make a difference?

I officially hate the cage now.

Ring, Cage, or Mat??

etc etc etc
