Also, don't forget that BJ Penn, the guy that beat Sherk "badly" also destroyed the "always tough" Uno in even more fantastic fashion.

I'm not talking about Sherk's last 5 opponents, I'm talking about his performance in 2008 which is what the ranking system should reflect. But, for the sake of argument:
- As previously mentioned, Sherk hasn't finished an opponent in 3 1/2 years
- The Diaz fight was a razor close decision (and at WW which makes it irrelevant)
- I never suggested that Franca or Griffin were "chumps"
- I did suggest that Sherk can never seem to finish an opponent and his form of "domination" is to constantly go for takedowns or box with pillow hands
- I'd like to see Sherk finish Caol Uno or JZ
Lastly, you bring up BJ Penn's KO of Uno that took place ***SEVEN*** years ago. How the hell is that relevant? And then you conveniently forget the Draw the two had a year and a half later. Anyone who says that Uno isn't an "always tough" opponent needs to reconsider how much they know about the sport.
The bottom line is that there is simply no way I can imagine Aoki not being ranked ahead of Sherk. Hell, Aoki had more fights at LW last year than Sherk has had period!
Anyway, I will stand by my statement that rankings are patently ridiculous. I will also stand by my statement that Aoki has more accolades and has had more success than Sherk at LW career-wise and 2008-wise.

Wow, could you suck Aoki's balls any harder???
Aoki would get crushed by Penn. In fact Aoki just got crushed by Hansen and got lucky the first fight with JZ was a NC.
Give me a break there is no way Aoki is #1.

Rankings aren't about speculation, they're about accomplishments. Do you not get that?

Forget about what Sherk has done recently, what has he ever done to deserve a No. 2 ranking?
MMA-Elo has the top five as Aoki, Florian, Kitaoka (wrong, the system is too slow to react to guys being washed up), Sherk and Penn. JZ, Miller, Thomson, Alvarez and Gomi follow. Alvarez should be higher, Gomi should be out, Kitaoka and Sherk should be lower, imo.

that´s a question... if it were only about accomplishments, then You can pick some "nonamer" from the end of the world, who is 7-0 in 2008 and we have the best LW in the world.

Yeah...I was thinking it, but then I didn't want to say it, and he said it, so I was like, "What he said."
Anyway, rankings suck Insert typical response questioning your manhood, logic, and fighting abilities here.

Laughable!!!!!!
Anyway, I've pretty much stopped looking at rankings unless I really need to for some reason.
This just supports the feelings that I've developed towards rankings over the years

something that puzzles me is lawler and maybe even lindland being so high on the mw rankings, i just dont think that lawler is top 5, my rankings would be more like this:
Anderson
Rich
Hendo
Okami
Marquardt
Mousasi
Lindland
Lawler
Santiago
Maia
