Sherdog airing more dirty laundry (Bonnar)

First it was Sherdog making a big deal about being told not to tape the weigh-ins and reporting it. You could also bring up Gross reporting the TUF4 finalists as 'news' (which many have speculated is a response to teh weign-in fiasco.) Now Mike Sloan is reporting more behind-the-scenes, dirty laundry involving the UFC.

IMO, Sherdog's professionalism is quickly heading downhill. There's no need to make a big deal, let alone report if a fighter is unhappy with their portrayal in an article. It happens all the time in sports. Athletes complain about an article, and the respectable papers generally make a professional response or simply turn the other cheek.

Bonnar will certainly be in the title hunt in no time because he is so great and thrilling to watch. In my opinion, he’s never lost a fight in the Octagon, he’s that good.

As you can tell, the sarcasm is dripping down off of that last paragraph. It seems that Bonnar became irate with my lead-in article with his fight with Evans where I absolutely never came close to bashing him or his credibility.

It seems he became angry around our own Greg Savage, cursing him out because I did him wrong in my article. I’m not exactly sure what he was all mad about before the fight because all I basically said was that Bonnar and Evans were searching for some respect and that a loss would hurt their chances at a title shot anytime soon.

I also said that Bonnar could afford a loss much more than Evans. Again, I’m not sure why he was so angry. He should be angry now, after he dropped a lackluster decision to Evans.
I know it's and editorial of sorts, and not an actual news report, but there's a reason stuff like this is called 'dirty laundry'.

Other reactions from the article: Apparently Sloan would prefer to have a tournament with more fress faces and less talent, and questioned why Overeem's corner threw in the towel even though his corner already announced why over 48 hours ago.

Agreed. There is no right or wrong anymore. Maybe there was at one point in their scuffle, but neither deserves praise for their actions lately. IMO both companies are acting far too unprofessional.

Fuck that...if the UFC would allow Sherdog media credentials, maybe this shit wouldn't be happening. The UFC is basically saying that Sherdog has no right to cover mma for the UFC...so anything that's posted or said here is not bounded by a "gentlemen's agreement". Sherdog has done a lot for the UFC, the UFC should reciprocate.

It's all hearsay anyway as this is what was "heard via the grapevine".

Score +1 for the little guy.

I love this forum, but the "He said, He said" stuff is getting a little old.

Seeing as how combined the two of you have almost 3,000 posts it looks as though you have generally managed to work through your difficulties with Sherdog.

+1 for the little guy? Hardly. This immature pissing contest makes them both look bad, but Sherdog has something to lose. There is still MMA without Sherdog. Sherdog doesn't broadcast the fights, they just bitch about them.
