That's a good post, although Salaverry and maybe Doerksen aren't in the UFC anymore. Not sure if Riggs is keen to staying at 185 lbs, but Riggs vs. Leben would be a good fight.

Excellent post, a lot of thought put into it. Keep up the good work.

IMO, Silva beating Franklin might just be the ticket to Tanner regaining the belt.

I don't think Tanner vs. Swick would be a good choice. Tanner would take him down and finish it. I like Swick vs. Terrell much better. Terrell is game on the feet and isn't quite the takedown artist of Tanner. The Terrell fight would be more of a battle than a one-sided beating IMO. Style match-ups.

I like Tanner/Lister but build up to that one eventually. Our goal isn't to blow our load and do all of the best fights now because we wouldn't leave anything for the future.

Everyone wants to see Nate Marquardt fight Anderson Silva, and I can't say that I don't either. My idea was simply that it is pointless to eliminate a ready contender by having them two fight. They can easily gain the credibility for a title shot by taking on guys like Tanner, Losieau, Terrell, etc. That way you save one of them for after a title fight.

For instance, if Marquardt fights Silva and loses, he's not getting a title shot anytime soon. If Marquardt fights Franklin and loses, Silva is right there ready to give Franklin a legit contender.
Likewise if Marquardt beats Silva, then Silva is knocked out of the runnings for awhile. If they don't fight each other, you have two legit contendors who would be undefeated in the UFC.

Marquardt has been ready for quite some time and has a very big resume. I think he's ready. I don't think he will beat Franklin but he's legit and after this fight Silva should be ready for his title shot.

A lot of people read it, and your flaming skills are weak. So are your trolling skills.

I love the post but Luigi will hopefully drop to 170 for future fights.
