Takedowns should be scored if they are used as a means to an end (gnp/sub attempts), but they should be considered stalling if they are merely used for LNP. As far as the knee to the face thing, how many times have we seen a fighter avoid punishment by staying on his knees after a failed shot? UFC rules definitely favor wrestlers but everyone who gets in the cage understands that.

Takedowns are a big part of a fight , atleast in the judges eyes , the person on top 99% of the time has the advantage ( in the judges eyes ) .... controllling the fight and octagon conrtrol and what not , i think a takedown is just as good as a strike

Offense should always score more than defense. If sprawls counts for as much as a takedown it would logically mean that a slipped punch would count for as much as one that connects...

I understand the judge have to find some hard criteria to judge a fight on, but the way takedowns seem to control the ruling and commentating lately, I have to say I've seen enough..

i.e. PENN vs. St. Pierre... love beating the newest dead horse
Um, did you wrestle with athletes or just your band geek buddies?
