Sage Advice from Marcus Davis that Mirko should have decided to follow...

“If I wanted to be a great fighter, sprawling and brawling wasn’t the way to do it,” said Davis, who rebuilt his career in smaller organizations after appearing on the reality series. “I needed work in submissions, fighting from the clinch and getting takedowns. I needed to come back with better kneeing and elbowing… but I now feel comfortable in any situation and any fight.“

Not to be piling on... However, in light of Mirko's latest troubles, maybe if he followed advice similar to this, then he woldnt be in such a quagmire of a situation, regarding his career...

Discuss...

Yes he needs a ground game.

And no, he probably isn't going to attain one

Marcus Davis & Rashad are probably the two most improved fighters since the show. Davis especially learned the lessons of the cage very quickly and put his experiences to good work. Cro Cops problems are alot deeper than just not adapting to the cage very well. From the looks of his last two fights, he is way too small to compete in the UFC HW division. Size may not have been an issue for him in Pride, but its looking like its posing a very big problem for him in the UFC. I think a drop to LHW is the only way to salvage his UFC career because I don't think Dana White will give him another HW fight at $350k a pop.

i agree with cc needing more ground game, but the differene is davis was only beginning his mma career, but cc may be tho old dog that doesnt learn any new tricks. i would love to see him as a lhw, but he has been able to hang with larger hw's in the past, so i dont think he needs to drop to be competitive.
