Rudimar: "Queremos Cyborg X Sokoudjou"
Escrito por Victor Hugo - Webmaster
11-Apr-2007

The Chute Boxe team landed on tuesday in the Afonso Pena airport in Curitiba after a non participation of Wanderlei Silva who was not cleared to fight by the Nevada Athletic Commission. The Chute Boxe crew was very receptive and Rudimar spoke with us. "I think we have a new era in Pride. Sakakibara was a great leader and we are very pleased that we were able to participate in the festivities to honor him." Asked about the new upcoming african star Sokoudjou that recently defeated Rogerio "Minotauro" Nogueira and Ricardo Arona of BTT (Both by KO), Fedrigo revealed that very soon we will see Cyborg facing an opponent with international level. "Evangelista for sure will fight the native of Cameroon, Chute Boxe will enter this fight just thinking of the KO, it's time for him (Sokoudjou) to face a real beating....we are very excited. Zulu will be in the Pan-American games representing Brazil and Chute Boxe. Ninja and Cyborg will be fighting at Cage Rage. Evangelista will be fighting for the belt."

I am curious as to what Cyborg's fight plan would be. Obviously he wouldn't want to be standing , but I don't see Cyborg taking him down. Probably another Sokoudjou win.

STOP BEING A PUSSY RUDIMAR AND LET WANDERLEI FIGHT SOKOU

A fight between Sokou and Cyborg does NOTHING. If Sokou wins, big deal, he took a step down in competition anyways. If Cyborg wins (good chance of that happening), BOOM, say goodbye to all that precious hype. Cyborg won't get none of it; Sokou will just be called 'overrated'.

It's a stupid, incredibly risky matchup. Wanderlei-Sokou is win-win for PRIDE, no matter who triumphs

interesting...but i think if silva fought sokou and lost

#1 the hype for sokou will shoot through the roof
#2 silva will be labeled a has been

i don't think it would be smart to put wand vs. sokou right away.

#1 is an extremely good thing. PRIDE wants a new superstar, and one that just ran through 3 BIG opponents is one that can no longer be considered lucky. Can you imagine how big the fight between him and Shogun would be, after that? Or him and Chuck? And if Sokou loses, no biggie; Wanderlei gains all his cred back and Sokou was just 'too young and inexperienced at the time'

as for #2, even if Wand loses, there's still plenty of interesting match ups for him. He could finally have a match with Rogerio. Or he could fight Overeem. If they do a PRIDE-UFC thing, he can rematch Tito. Or even better, if Shogun beats Henderson, then Wand-Hendo 3 can occur

Joberd you are almost exactly correct with your predictions. The only thing i think is that Everyone has wanted fights with Wandy as of late and i believe that is only due to the fact that his weak spots were exposed through henderson. If he had never lost to Hendo than it would of been back to the old ways of Wandy cleaning shop in Pride and nobody would want to step up like before. Soko is only 21 or 22 and is going to be beat before h eeven gets a shot at a title. Cmon nobody has even seen this kidon the ground so saying he would beat Wandy is just absurd. Wanyds losses were from WORLD CLASS fighters who are in there ultimate prime. Silva has never been beated by a chump

I agree whole heartedly. If Sokoudjou wins against Silva it solidifies his hype and sets up for a great match up with a newly crowned LHW champ Mauricio Shogun. If Wandy wins he confirms that he has recovered from he recent embarrassing losses. Sending a non contender at Sokoudjou at this point is just a bad decision. I hope Team Quest refuses the fight.
