If you want to do well in Pride, roids are a necessity. You don't want to be the only fighter not doing them. And they're not illegal in Japan so what's the big deal?

The only reason the UFC does is the NSAC makes them test. It is not some grandious philosophy that the UFC has to keep things fair. It is required by the NSAC for title fights. But is not reuired for non title fights. The guys in the states just have to be smarter about their cycles than the guys in overseas.

By the way the irony of your screename is killing me since he's one the people that were caught.

There are lots of steroids that don't stay in your system very long. It all depends on the chemical composistion of the steroid.

nobody in on the top level use roids only (if they use it) to build there body - they wouldn't use it if there are no advantages in that . And if they used only to be a gladiator then there are nuts!!!

And are those caught punished?
No they aren't.

Sylvia and BArnett lost their belts but got no real punishment.

They should be banned from ALL fighting for at least two years.
Sylvia was back after three months, what a f-in joke.
What's the point in testing if it in the end doesn't matter.

Quinton pisses in a cup too the brim and that gives it to a nurse, hilarious.
So there are tests in japan, perhaps not to the full extent they need to be.
However, japanese fighters fight in europe all the time where steroids certainly isn't a laughing matter. If you're caught here you're pretty much done.
And looking at Mirko, the Noguieras, Emelianenkos, Wanderlei, Kharitonov etc they don't look like users too me.

If there's any I'd say Arona, Fujita, Bob Sapp (doh), Hammerhouse fighters, Barnett (still), I'd say Overeem but he gasses too much to be a roider.
