The reason why you as a fan of mma do not want soccer kicks or stomps in MMA...
Is it because your favourite fighter does not use these tools, and therefore you know it would be a disadvatage to him against a fighter who does? This is common with Couture, Liddell, and Ortiz fans.
Is it because you think they are too brutal, and therefore work against mma breaking into the mainstream market? This is common with MMA enthusiasts who really do care for the sport, however have a hard time understanding that this is Mixed Martial Arts, and brutality can be hard to avoid when watching the sport of MMA.
Or is it because its not how the UFC is? Which is common with TUF fans who just really got into mma a year ago give or take.
Lately, I have been reading some insanity here at Sherdog. I'm reading that some people actually do not want soccer kicks or stomps in mma? I hope this is just a real long April Fools joke, because I am having a hard time understanding that somebody could possibly not want to see soccer kicks or stomps ever again? That is ridiculous! There is a reason why PRIDE has been the most exciting mma event for the last 10 years, and this is a huge reason why.
Also the 10 minute round is genius. That really seperates the contenders from the pretenders. If you gas after 5 minutes in PRIDE the fight has a more likelihood of ending in an exciting stoppage, whereas other events that go with the 5 minute rounds are susceptible to having fighters re-up in between each round which can often lead to a boring and stalled fight ala Herring/O'Brien.
And when the hell is everybody going to learn that you cannot judge a MMA fight the same way you do a boxing fight? That is horseshit, and retarded, and the people who claim to be guiding MMA into the right direction (Dana White) should know that, and should be doing more to change that stupidity. MMA fights should be judged as a whole, with a unique scoring system that rewards all fighting styles, EVEN JIU JITSU!!

Christ. Here we go again...let it begin.
No offense or anything pal, but this has seriously been beaten to death here lately.
There are arguments for both that have been excessively layed out, I'm sure you can find them somewhere.

Just for the record, I agree with you but I am thinking optimistically and going to wait to see how everything plays out before I go nuts over the rules.

I don't see the arguement really? Its pretty white and black in my eyes. Its the whole reason why PRIDE has dominated UFC over the last 10 years. Not because their fighters were superior, but because their rules were superior, and this lead to more action packed fights. And now UFC has a chance to continue this excitement, and they're going to bow down so easily to the NSAC. Gimme a break, there is clearly an alterior motive for the UFC not wanting these rules. Hmmmm...?

Was that sarcasm? It's hard to tell on here lately. If so ignore the rest of my post.
It's the rules that made Pride great?
I'm sorry, I thought it was Sak, Wandy, Hendo, Fedor, Nog, Gomi, Cro Cop, Rampage and Shogun.

I agree, I like soccer kicks, stomps, etc. but It was the talent that made Pride so great.

Stomps and kicks are unnessecary. A striker can decide to have the fight stood up.
Knees are all that we need.
