Re-watching Nog Vs Hendo II makes me want to see Nog V Couture even more.

Remembering how crazy awesome the second fight between Dan Henderson and Big Nog was in Pride (24 I think?) makes me dream of a Couture Vs Big Nog match up that much more.

Henderson just would not quit and wormed his way out of so many near submissions and made Big Nog work his ass off, I can see Couture doing the same. Both Couture and Hendo have that world class greco-roman wrestling background, Couture's striking has improved though I don't think he has the same striking power Hendo has, and Couture' submission defense excellent since the last time he was submitted in MMA was 2001 in Rings, and he went to a draw with Jacare in a sub wrestling match (and by most people's accounts, Jacare is one of the absolute best BJJ grapplers in the world).

If Couture Vs Big Nog could promise to be half as exciting as Hendo Vs Big Nog II, it would be an essential match up to have. Plus if Couture were to actually beat Big Nog (and maybe finish him, something Fedor could never do) it puts him on the same level as Fedor currently, in my opinion.

i agree with everything accept i think randy can punch harder than hendo because he is alot heavier, maybe his technique isnt as good. and ya this would be a good fight.

I don't think Couture has the submission defense that hendo showed that night.

Not in the same way perhaps. But I can see Randy having that never say die attitude to such a fight, and can see him avoiding submissions more then worming his way out of fully sunk in ones.

Henderson has showed much better submission defence in that fight then Couture did in his whole carreer.

Also, Couture is not going to finish Nogueira, he does not have the tools for that.

For being such a good wreslter hendo has some weak td defense but i think his striking is better than randys. Randy is stronger though so hed control the fight better.

True! It's hard for anyone to finish Nog as he can rehabilitate himself after being hurt faster than any fighter I've ever seen!

When Randy fought Sylvia he landed a overhand right immediatelt that knocked Sylvia down which gave Randy the opportunity to jump on him. However, if Randy knocked Nog down and went to the mat like he did against Sylvia then we may well see Randy get caught in a triangle on the way down!
