Rather Odd Comparison...

... I was talking to my dad the other day, who is a casual UFC fan, he likes to get the PPV's when my brother and I are home to split the cost with him. We had mentioned trying to go to UFC 69, which fell through, and while we were still talking about it, he compared it to.... Auto Racing. He and my mom used to go to Nascar races before and as it became really mainstream. They went to meet the drivers and have the parties and for love of the sport. He mentioned that if you want to go to a PPV, go to it now, and get your love of the sport it now, because in 5-8 years it will all be completely commercialized. With MMA in the last 12 months, do you think this will ever happen, will MMA turn into auto racing, where everything is about the sponsorships, ads and commercials and less on the sport?

For some reason this is what all of these fans on here want. I do not see how Pepsi and Coke (not picking on the brands..for the record i drink more coke than my teeth will allow) will not lead to more paper champs and meaningless fights.

Whenever you see fighters at the end of the fight too busy putting on shirts with logo's and drinking energy drinks to do the post-fight interview, I'd say it's already to that point.

Have you ever heard of this Xyience stuff or Mickeys Malt Liquor? All MMA isn't heading this way, the UFC IS already this way though.

Oh yeah... single or double wide?

Yea and 15 minutes of fights with an hour and 45 minutes of commercials.
