I see it playing out like this. I see Nog beating Mir. Then Randy possibly facing Mir. Mir would be a good match-up for Couture because Mir has no cardio. Then Nog is going to beat Lesnar by submission. So then we'll get to see Nog vs. Couture for the UFC Undisputed HW Championship. Then I see Nog beating Couture by decision. That's just my opinion, but we'll see what happens.

I heard that Randy was dropping down to LHW and setting up Liddell/Couture IV.

Is this true?

Does that seem as lame as it sounds to me?

Being an old man myself I feel for Randy. I think he should talk to Dana about transferring his contract to an on screen analyst of some sort. I don't think Randy could win any fights that mean a damn anymore.

Loser of the Mir/Nog fight (Mir), then a shot at the Champ to allow him to retire as a Champion, or to go out fighting to get another. If Lesnar wins against Nog, the rematch will be entertaining and easily promotable. If Lesnar loses against Nog (cause we all know Nog's gonna beat Mir) then Randy gets to fight Nog, since he beat Mir. All great fights.

Maybe they can match him up with his fight. That's a fight he could POSSIBLY win.

That was a joke. But come on. We've had enough of the old guy. It's time for a new breed. Same goes for Liddell. Randy had his run and he shoudl quit gracefully.

Randy is training hard for a rematch with Brock Lesnar. He wants it bad. He says he'll win 'by any means necessary'.

Here is a pic of his first training session:

(I know the techniques may look a little strange for MMA but just keep in mind that Randy is a master at gameplanning)

Id rather see Randy fight low risk opponents - ie guys without crazy "pee pants" KO power (Chuck and Brock).

Randy vs Nog, or Mir, or a HOF match against Coleman.

I certainly have no interest in seeing Randy vs Fedor, that I know for sure now.

*I also wouldnt mind seeing Randy @ 205 for one last stand - maybe being the UFCs saving grace if Machida manages to get the title in the near future or something.

Regardless, if Randy wants to stick around he needs to stay in the gym. At 91 he came in 10lbs lighter than when he fought Gonzaga and was noticably softer in the midsection. I think Rogans whistle blowing on Randys HRT regimen might explain why Randys age "caught up with him".

Regardless, Ill always root for him. War Randy!

Randy's Next Fight? Loser of Mir/Nog makes the most sense.
Chuck Liddell is supposedly fighting Anderson Silva next. so he's busy.
I wish Werdum was still around to fight Randy.

so who is not scheduled to a fight at the moment?

Heavyweights:
Gonzaga.. Herring.. Carwin.. Velasquez.. Dos Santos

LightHeavyWeights:
Jardine.. Vera.. Cane.. Sokoudjou.. Irvin..

Tito Ortiz maybe when gets healthy.
or sign Sergi Kharitonov..

oooooh. Bring back CroCop so one of them can get back on the winning track.

I think Randy should fight Machida at 205.

I'd love to see his "gameplan" against Machida.

I thought he fought really well against Lesner, he just got caught. I thought he was going to pull out win until he got dropped by the hammer that dropped Mir and Herring. Randy wobbled Les with more accurate albeit weaker strikes, he got up off his back, and he would have scored a huge take down if Lesner hadn't grabbed fence. I thought it was pretty amazing stuff he was pulling off, not the work of someone who's all washed up. He wasn't out cold either, he just wasn't able to get it together fast enough to keep it from being stopped. I don't see any reason why he shouldn't fulfill the contract and fight 2 more. He seems to be improving in almost all aspects. Could He have gotten up off his back against Lesner if it was the Randy from 5 years ago? Don't know why everyone is so quick to write him off. Every fight he's in is in my opinion great to watch. Patience everyone, he's 45, he'll retire soon enough.
