Seriously bro, stop having an obsession over Pride vs. UFC - It's not healthy.
I don't know much about QJ's sponsorships, but I don't see why people are thinking the UFC just wants QJ to get beaten by Chuck and then throw him to the wayside. That would work to give the UFC just one worthy match - actually building him up gives them a consistent contender. The UFC knows that the greatest money is in the rubber match... Obviously they'd love to have this match up for a single fight, but presuming they would offer Rampage a 3-4 fight deal with 1-2 tuneups before fighting Chuck, whatever the outcome would be, QJ could be back in contendership within a year w/ all the shows the UFC is planning on having.
And although I don't think QJ would reach Chuck's popularity status right away, I'd assume he could get quite the healthy sponsorship from Xyience, especially if he beats Chuck. I know Rampage makes nice money in Pride, but coming back to fight in the states and for the UFC has greater opportunities than straight cash by the fights. Rampage probably couldn't make the supposed 2-3 million that Chuck is making w/ all his sponsorships by QJ staying in Pride. He'll never become a national star in the US that could branch out into other opportunities - movies, shows, etc, that all provide additional forms of income as well.
edit: Huh, 250th post. Go figure it'd be spent on what basically boils down to the benefits of pride vs. ufc.

Look at what a great decision it was for Herring to turn down the UFC and go to K-1.

You are wrong, if Pride was going to drop Rampage, they would be feeding him to the wolves. Instead, they are giving him Sik, which is an easy fight for Rampage. Why would Pride give him an easy fight if they are going to release him?
K-1 pays their fighters 10-20 times what the UFC does, actually. When K-1 fights in the U.S., they pay their fighters like $5,000 in order to prevent the U.S. from taking taxes from their income. Then K-1 makes up the difference in their salaries overseas. K-1 has many fighters making $1,000,000 a fight, but does the UFC? Fuck no.......it isn't even close. K-1 is the world's largest and most popular fighting organization by far. The UFC isn't even close to K-1, man.
So, Herring is making far more in K-1 than he would get in 10 UFC fights. That is why the UFC didn't get Herring or Schilt after they left Pride. The UFC does not pay its HW enough to attract eithet one of them, even though Herring said before he would love to fight in front of American fans. The UFC HW's make jackshit compared to K-1, so that is why there are few good HWs in the UFC: not many good HWs will fight for the peanuts the UFC pays its fighters.

excellent points, it's definitely in rampage's best interests to stay in PRIDE. i really hope PRIDE writes up a new contract after 'page destroys Dong.

Rampage most likely will resign w/ Pride ... Even though I'm more of a UFC guy and would love to see him fight in the states, I HIGHLY doubt the UFC will pay him what he wants. However, I do think Rampage would take a pay cut to fight here ... we'll soon find out. He may be the most sought after free agent MMA has ever had.

Actually that's a good point. I don't buy the idea that the reason Rampage is fighting Sik is because they're trying to rebuild him. Articles have stated that they actually wanted to match Rampage up with Sergei, Alex Emelianenko, a couple other upper-tier fighters but Rampage refused because he wanted an easier fight. Rampage has stated this several times in interviews. (And I don't blame him, at this point of his career.)

If the UFC paid him more money then PRIDE or anybody else, and they laid out a plan for him to build him up to the UFC fans and then fight Chuck Liddell for a huge payday then he would do it.
If they offer what they offer to everybody else and want him to fight Chuck right off the bat then Rampage isn't going to the UFC.
Show him the fucking money Dana!!!!!

Of course, he isn't going to the UFC. I think that was clear from the beginning.

Best Rampage quote ever:
Bas: Who have you been working on with your submissions?
QJ: I've been working with Randy Fink.
Bas: And what did you do?
QJ: He submitted me.
