A Quick Analysis....Why is Tito Ortiz in the UFC still?

Note- Not a bashing thread. We will be rational and scientific here.

1. His fighting talent is not up to UFC par. He has not won a fight for almost

FOUR YEARS. And that was against Ken Shamrock. Tito loses to every opponent he faces, and never looks exciting or talented.

2. The biggest myth. Tito Ortiz is NOT a draw at all anymore.

UFC Establishes New Mark for PPV Buys in 2009 : MMAPayout.com: The Business of MMA

His fight with Forrest drew 300,000 buys, and that was matched up with FORREST.

Do you know how much Rampage vs. Forrest drew?

540,000 Buys.

When Rampage fought KEITH JARDINE at UFC 96, in a fight not many people were too stirred up about, they managed to draw 350,000.

So objectively speaking, and i'm not using any put-downs or hate. Considering these factors.

Why has he not been cut?

When you see the numbers for Chuck vs. Tito next year, you'll understand.

Dude there won't be numbers! Nobody cares anymore! You don't even want to see it! (Well maybe you do, but you won't shell out your hard earned cash for it!)

Because Dana wants to believe that Tito is a PPV draw. He thinks people will tune in to watch him, but we wont.

I got dubs for making this thread.

Why isn't Tito top 10?

They want Tito in because, like in Pro Wrestling, they need a heel. They want the bad guy you all love to hate. He's not a draw, he's a drama queen. Thats why Dana keeps him around.

what you aren't understanding is that Tito and Chuck are still big names for casual fans.. casual fans who watched Chuck on Dancing with the Stars and Entourage.. and casual fans who hears about Tito talking shit and saying out landish stuff..

they exist and they are in bigger numbers than you think
there are a lot of people who began to watch TUF as their UFC experience and still believes that Tito is a good fighter..

there will be numbers.. Dana cares about ratings and money

he's one of the guys the UFC have that can HEADLINE a event.
The champs can and after them there isn't many guys

Randy
Wandy
Rashad
Rampage
Nog
Chuck
Diego

and unless these guys get another moderatly big name fighter then they cant headline a ppv and expect good numbers. With the amount of shows the UFC put on they need a guy like Tito to headline a PPV once in a while.
