I recently posted a thread where I listed my top 5 MMA strikers today. I based this list on first, how many fights they have won by KO/TKO, two, how well rounded their striking is, and three the level of opponents they have beaten in terms of their striking. Here was my list

1. Cro Cop
2. Wand
3. Shogun
4. Anderson Silva (replaces Mark Hunt)
5. Kid Yamamoto

I listed those as top 5, but gave mentions to Liddell, Hunt, and Igor.
Now, numerous fans of Chuck mentioned that he should have been at least in that top 5 that I put, so I realized that the list that I made may discredit Chuck and maybe he should fit in there somewhere since so many people made that opinion.

But, if Chuck should be in the top 5, why should be ahead of any of the 5 that I mentioned, all of them have beaten good strikers, have great well rounded standup and win most of thier fights by TKO. So what do you guys think???

why is wand #2? he's one of the sloppiest "strikers" there is. That's not to say he's not powerful and effective but as far as pure scientific striking, he's def not #2. Chuck's a sloppy striker too, but again, he's powerful and he knocks people out with one punch.

are we talking just mma strikers or strikers worldwide?

Wow someone loves PRIDE hugh i see all 5 of ur top mma strikers are pride fighters!!! wow thats great so i guess the only mma fighters that can strike are pride fighters hugh??? well this is my list:

1.) Chuck Lidell
2.) Cro cop
3.) Wandy
4.) Tim sylvia
5.) rich franklin

There thats much more accurate...cant believe u didnt add rich franklin to your list who has one just about all of his fights on his feat and is THE BEST middlewt in the world.

In mma how could you not put Liddell atleast at #5 as a striker. Like him or hate him he's koed and tkoed some of the best fighters in the world. My top 5 for strikers would have to be
1) Cro Cop
2) Igor Vovchanchyn
3) Wanderlei Silva
4) Chuck Liddell
5) Anderson Silva

Now Igor I know isn't a top 10 fighter but his striking ability is very superior to most.

and i know he's not a big name or anything but mark hominick is like lightning and very accurate with his strikes.

Rich and TIm do not belong on that top 5 list, Rich is not as good as Anderson Silva, doesnt mean that he cant beat him. Tim maybe around 10-15. There is no Pride bias. I have a K1 fighter, 2 pride fighters, 1 UFC figthter, and 1 who started and learned striking in K1.
