Question about cutting weight.

I walk around at 165 and cut to 155. I normally switch to strict diet of fruits, and tuna fish and drink only water and juice. I can normally drop 10 pounds in a week.

My question is: I hear that drinking tons of water is good, but then why would I want to sweat all that water out a day before weigh in? Isnt it better to drink a average amount of water and then not have to sweat like a slave later in the week?

Is this a dumb question?

I never have to use the sauna but I always wondered that? Why not drink a normal amount of water and then not sweat out as much gallons and gallons?

you don't drink a lot of water the week you're trying to cut weight ... its good to drink a lot of water when you're training (not during training obviously) but when you need to cut weight especially the night before you compete you don't wanna rehydrate yourself

If you are only cutting 10 pounds, then that is a good idea, if you can do it, but if you were fighting at 145, you would have to cut all the water also. It comes down to what your natural weight is, and were you want to fight.

Cutting 20lbs at 165 would be huge!
