Pride's Drug test policy

Sherdog.com: Fighting in the United States is different, maybe, than any other place in the world. The fighters are expected to fight under a different sent of rules and when they fight with athletic commission [regulation] they’re also expected to take drug tests, performance-enhancing tests. What’s your opinion of fighters taking these tests?

Silva: I believe it’s very good and I think they should be done, those tests. This is to keep legitimacy to the sport. In Japan they also do the same tests before and after the event. And this is the way it should be anyway.

in his interview, silva claims that pride tests fighters before and after event. I keep hearing shit like barnett, coleman, and every1 else in pride are juicing. This contradicts everyone's views. You think wandy is making this up or is their legitimacy in his statement.

Well, Rogerio stated in an interview (do a search, it's on here) that Pride tests for drugs, but not anabolic agents, although he stated he believes they should. So who knows.

Well, we'll find out. Seems pretty stupid of Pride to send guys over only to get caught for doping. That'd be a marketing nightmare.

QFT pride does drug test mostly for stimulants and pain killers since most performance enhancers are not illegal in japan they do not test for them.

If what you're saying were true then wouldn't Mark Kerr's urine samples have been waiving more red flags than the Chinese army?

Maybe they handle it differently who know, I still believe they do not test for steroids personally in Pride. But its not impossible that they have always tested but just kept results and consequences behind closed doors.

kerr is the biggest reason why pride does drug test

if I am not mistaken the pain killer tests started becuase of kerr as well as others
take hoyler saku for instance. when it was on fsn the other day I actually noticed hoyler laughing when saku had the kimora sunk in.
it seems like a lot guys used pain killers back in the day, and it only makes sense really, but dse stepped up its testing once the kerr stories broke

I would also assume both ufc and pride testing is for std's as well anything that could be transferred from contact with blood (same as boxing)
