Pride website looks abandoned

They've still got info about Pride 34 up on the main page. Not much in the way of plans for the organization or upcoming events or anything. Is Zuffa just going to steal all the talent and let the Pride ship run into the ground?

I know they've claimed to have plans for Pride but they're sure taking their sweet time in getting the ball rolling.

well since the new pride is called pride worldwide i doubt they will keep the pride fc webpage for long. also the american pride website was always abandoned you hardly ever saw updates when it was run by pride as well.

How you seen the crowds in Japan at the PRIDE fights? There 40,00+ in attendance and who knows what the PPV brings in worldwide? They are going to build it better than new! Just wait and see..

I don't know why the UFC wouldn't try to run Pride in Japan. Pride died mainly because it lost its TV deal & PPV was satellite-only (ie very limited compared to US PPV). They still got 40 K attendence (which is 2x what UFC gets). MMA is still big in Japan.

I think the UFC's growth in America confused people into thinking MMA died in Japan. The UFC's growth in America didn't come at the expense of Pride's popularity in Japan. TV/PPV is the main revenue generator for HW MMA orgs, & they can't survive w/o it.

The last televised NYE got 25 mil viewers, UFC 70 wasn't even close (despite the US having 3x more people). MMA in Japan is still more popular than it is in the US, the UFC should cash in.
