I was watching the press conference video for Jackson/Griffin and it seems that Page is still trying to revise settled history on his past even though he tried once before, failed miserably, and then groveled his way back out of his words after the firestorm.

I know I'm paraphrasing here, but he said that the reason he lost is because he kept training with jitsu guys to fight a striker and didn't have a proper partner. He also added that Wand's corner called the ref to stand both fighters up when Page and Wand were on the ground, tilting the fight in Wand's favor. For the second fight, he says that he was beating Wand, but things spun out when he got caught.

WTF?

Come on, not too long ago, Page says something dumb just like this and a firestorm erupts. Then he retracts and acknowledges that he has weaknesses and he knows what they are, implying that Wand's his weakness.

Its really foolish arrogance that wouldn't come out from other fighters with more honor. You didn't see Rich Franklin complaining about BS ref calls or getting "caught" by Silva twice.

I'm hoping rampage wins this fight so that Shogun or Wand can come back and get the title from him and frustrate him that much more. But I'm also hoping Griffin lays a nice healthy beating on him as well.

The more I see and listen to Rampage, the more I don't really like him. I don't think he's funny like everyone else (feel the same way about Mayhem Miller). I didn't like him on TUF even though was very good to his team (not necessarily in coaching them, but at least Juanito and Zach Light were there).

Can't really explain it. Just something about Rampage that I don't really like and I guess reading these comments just made me realize it.

TS, I want to thank you. I've been trying, to no avail, to hype myself up and get excited for this card, but just couldn't. Now I'm behind Forrest in the main event.

As far as the first fight goes, rampage could be right. I don't even think he's making excuses (other than maybe the ref stand up), but he's admitting he didn't train smart, and that wand's corner was telling them to stand up, on this last point we'll never know. The second fight he said "i got caught, that shit happens' or something like that. I don't see what's so offensive about that. People do get caught, it doesn't mean it was a lucky punch, or that wand didn't deserve to win. I think page just thinks he can beat wand if he trains smart, and fights a good fight.

Well, here's to hoping we get to see a 3rd fight for him to back it up. If he lost to Forrest, I could see a Wand3 for a title shot maybe down the road?

why do ppl expect fighters to say what they think a fighter should say or not?? the guy got his own reasons to say whatever the hell he wants if he feels better by saying that wand was favored in PRIDE then so be it.

it all comes down to when rampage and wand face off. if rampage beats him then his talk was backed up if not he set himself up to get flamed.

i just feel like ppl need to stop it with the "i dont understand why rampage said this and that" we can expect fighters to say what we want them to say.

I don't even see why Rampage is bringing up the old Wanderlei fights and making excuses for them now at this time.

He lost, regardless... He should get over it and look forward to a possible rematch in the future. He can prove himself then.
