Penn vs. GSP not till FEB 09
BJ Penn Expecting To Fight In December - FightLine.com
The more i thought about that fight happening it just made more sense for Penn to defend his LW title in DEC and fight GSP on the SuperBowl card. GSP has already stated he wants time off and Penn needs to fight ken-flo first so there isnt this log jam and long time period before another LW title fight. Defend in DEC then fight GSP in Feb.
"Now JD Penn, BJ Penn's brother, is stating that Penn is training and expecting a fight sometime in December, but that the fight in question will likely not be against Georges St. Pierre. Instead, the two UFC superstars appear to be eying a return engagement in February 2009 as part of the UFC's Superbowl card."

Doesn't make much sense to me.
If Penn doesn't get past Florian (I know...but IF), the GSP - Penn fight is pretty worthless and is even more undeserving for Penn.

Some threads are saying GSP to fight in December in Montreal, some are saying GSP Penn will be that fight, some are saying GSP penn in feb.
Confused yet?

i figured after what GSP said about needing rest, that this fight would be on the super bowl card in feb instead of the nye show in december..
make anderson vs chuck happen for the nye show..that would make up for it i think..

The December card is going to be in Vegas as always and the Forum in Montreal has no Saturday dates if I remember correctly due to the Canadiens being at home pretty much every saturday night around that time anyway.

Why not, but I don't think Dana will risk a huge payday like GSP Penn in the third champ vs. champ fight, first one with both being UFC champs.

Scratching my head here. Just saw a thread where supposedly Meltzer is saying UFC is back in Montreal in Dec, other threads saying GSP will be on next Montreal card. Are they having 2 in December and none in November? So far I haven't heard any rumors for any Nov 08 event at all?

If he can't get past Florian why would he deserve to fight GSP for the belt. He should have no problem with Ken-Flo.
