Patrick Cote: Any word on when he's fighting again?

I am anxious to see him fighting again! Anyone hear anything about his recovery or return?

I think a rematch with Leben or fights with Belcher or The Axe Murderer would all be good fights for him when and if he returns!

Thoughts?

- SURGERY PUTS PATRICK COTE OUT UNITL 2010 - MMA WEEKLY - Mixed Martial Arts & UFC News, Photos, Rankings & more

Quote:
Cote on Monday informed MMAWeekly.com that, despite his best efforts, his “MCL is busted.” He will remain out of commission until next year.

“My ACL is good, but my MCL is busted,” he stated. “So I have to go under surgery again.”

Cote said that he will go in for surgery on Wednesday, and that a likely return to the Octagon is a long ways off.

“Not before February or March, for sure.”

All I know for sure is that he's gone for a while. That knee injury against Silva was major. It's troubled him before, back to when he was in the army I believe. It's not the first time he's torn his MCL, so he has to be very careful or his fighting career is over for good.

I hope he comes back soon.

I've seen some literature on Franklin not fighting until early spring....Cote has fought at 205 in UFC...would love to see them throw Rich a bone and give him Cote at 195/205. It would be an exciting , stand-up fight.

Damn I didn't know he would be out for that long. In that article it says
"If the surgery goes well and his rehab schedule stays on track, Cote will be able to start a conditioning program within a couple of weeks, and then return to fight training sometime around October."

Damn that really sucks, I hope everything goes well for this guy.

I would love to see that fight(based on your name you might want to cover your eyes). I think Cote would probably beat Franklin pretty badly. I'm not sure franklin can hurt him tbh. Though it would be a war!

I'd love to see Wanderlei test Cote's chin just an all around good fight.

I would like to see him knock through a few middleweights. His discipline against Almedia and his showing against Anderson makes me believe he has grown as a fighter beyond just a brawler. If he went through a few top guys I would like to see him get another shot at the title. I am not saying he is the answer to the Spider but at least he made it a fight.
