Nothing. I'm a big fan of his. He's No. 6 on my list, just ahead of my favorite fighter (Machida). GSP is probably the one guy who we're most sure about where he stands.

Cause I am sure he stands at #3.

I do recall Arona gassing somewhat late though.
BTW, my judgment of the Arona fight impacts my judgment of Fedor, and not the other way around.
At the time of that fight I felt so bad for Arona because he was visibly upset and I thought he clearly won.

Arona had a positioning advantage for a lot of the fight, but he really didn't do anything with it. Hard for me to see how he won. But I get that you're a BJJ guy, and I'm a striking guy. So we might judge things a little differently.

I can't see putting him over Kid, who is similar but clearly better; or Penn, who basically fought him evenly despite being a LW (and was more highly regarded before their fight). I give Silva and Torres a slight edge over him, but I wouldn't argue much about that.

Actually, I come from both a boxing and a bjj background.
Marcus Davis is one of my favorite fighters.
And I dont particularly like Arona because of his style. He's terrible standing and a bit of a blanket on the ground; I hate to see guys win that way. But I still do think he won.

See, if GSP hadn't lost to Serra, I think he would be #1.
And I don't like to dismiss a guy completely for 1 bad fight.
The level of comp he's fought his entire career is astonishing. Second to none, really.

On average, but the best guy he ever beat was a LW and the second best guy he ever beat was past his prime. GSP has no wins equivalent to Fedor's over Nog and CroCop or Penn's over Hughes (where he moved up in a weight and destroyed one of the greatest fighters ever in his prime). If GSP were to move up to 185 and beat Silva, that would be exactly as impressive as Penn's best win. And about the same as Fedor's two best wins.

Fedor's 2 best wins were against Nog and were huge.
But if GSP went up and beat Silva at MW that would be, in my opinion, the biggest win in MMA history.
Then again, I rate Silva higher than you do in the first place.

So what's the current best win in MMA history? I lean toward Penn over Hughes. Fedor over Nog I has to be up there, though. GSP doesn't have any in the top 10, probably.

I like the 2 you cited.
Penn was the victim of a rib injury in the second Hughes fight. It kills me that people overlook that. Penn was beating him again before the injury.
Fedor beating Nog the first time sent shockwaves through the MMA community.
