Sorry Cote fans!
Andy probably timed his cutting weight (classes, 2) wrong. It happens, especially if you are a natural HW who walks around at 231.5 lbs. He had to compensate by dehydrating even more than usual and he was suffering from that.

I can't have an intelligent conversation with you until you learn the difference between Silva's in shape fighting weight of 200-205 and his non-training, big-mac eating vacation weight of 230 pounds.

P4P November 21st 2008.

1)Anderson Silva (no question, no doubt)
2)GSP
3)Fedor
4)BJPenn

I am basing this on what they've accomplished lately. Not what they did 5 years ago.

We are living in the present, not the past.

Top four as of 11/21/08:

1. Fedor

2. Penn
3. Kid
4. Silva

I'm basing this on how good they are right now.

Silva p4p? LOL

Fedor is the p4p king. Sherdog p4p ranking is a waste of time.

I've already admitted to my shameful nuthuggery, but I don't see Fedor hanging on the ground with Jumbo Maia on top.

I disagree with you (and the judges) that Fedor won against Arona. To me, that is his only loss.

Pure strikers will get taken down by Fedor and might not even be able to beat him at striking.

I think the only way to beat him is take him down, stay on top, and avoid the subs and sweeps.

I also don't see a HW out there that could actually do it. That's why we need jumbo Maia. ;)

I'll give you this much: Jumbo Maia does better against Fedor than anyone actually has, or at least since Arona. But just to clarify: you at least admit that Fedor clearly won the OT round against Arona, right? And that both of the first two were close?

Right.

Because Silva is in shape at 231 and cuts 46 pounds of water, then rehydrates in one night and enters the cage at 231.

Him getting up to 231 pounds has nothing to do with the fact that he takes time off of training and lets go of his diet completely after a fight.

Oh, and I'm glad you've chosen to ignore his blatant lies about being 200-205 fight time.

Cause if that were true he'd be average sized for a MW these days.

Thank God you see through all that though.

What do you have against GSP?

To be honest I think the Rings rules protected Fedor because he spent most of the time on bottom and was not at risk of being punched. And no I do not think Fedor would have magically stopped Arona's takedowns if it were normal MMA rules. He wasn't intentionally giving the takedowns up, Arona was just on that day.

I do recall Arona gassing somewhat late though.

BTW, my judgment of the Arona fight impacts my judgment of Fedor, and not the other way around.

At the time of that fight I felt so bad for Arona because he was visibly upset and I thought he clearly won.
